Salad Spinner film dryerOne of the best photographic tools I've ever owned. It cost $14 bucks in Big Lots. It's the best / cheapest film dryer I ever found. It leaves almost NO water on the film to cause water spots, without any scratches from squeegees or sponges, or my fingers. I'm still using the wetting agent, but I probably don't need to now. Found the idea on a site, using 120 film spools to mount 2 35mm developing reels in the basket. I use 3 inch long stainless machine screws from my hardware pile instead. No duct tape needed, they just screw through the drain slits. Once it's spinning centrifigual force keeps the reels against the inside of the plastic basket. It takes 2 to balance the assembly so it will spin fast. Very fast. I've been fighting with water spots for maybe 100 rolls of film. I've tried everything, causing more damage in the process. This is IT.Click any pic to enlarge to full screen in a new tab. Close tab to return. |
